The Wonderful World of Artwork (See EXAMPLES below)
We can help no matter what format you have!
This is just a guideline to help explain what we "ideally" need
or charges that may be involved to get your art to the correct format.
We know that your printed products are only as good as the artwork
that's provided. That's why at Promoz, we make sure your artwork is
acceptable before going into production.
Some customers question why there might be an artwork
charge. Very simply a graphic artist is paid only by their time. Kind
of like a psychiatrist- except when art is finalized you will have a
tangible item!
What Format should I send?
Artwork is accepted in the following formats:
- Adobe Illustrator(.eps, or ai) that is converted to vector art
- Corel Draw(.cdr) that is converted to vector art and saved as EPS file
- Adobe Photoshop(.psd) converted to vector art- Saved in Layers and include fonts ($10 fee on all orders under $500)
- PDF Files (pdf) that were originally created in Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw
- FOR EMBROIDERY ONLY: Preferred formats are above, but all other formats are usually acceptable
The simple explanation is a file that is CREATED in one of the above programs, with all lines and text converted to outline and saved as an ESP or AI format.
Word Documents for type only. Clip art images that are from Word Program (not on the web clip art) that are "cartoonish" in nature can sometimes be imported to Vector format.
PLEASE NOTE: JPGS, BITMAPS, TIFFS AND MOST WORD DOCS CANNOT BE USED FOR ARTWORK.
Internet Graphics: JPGs, GIFFs, TIFFs and all other bitmap files are
not considered acceptable artwork for screen printing. These files will
have to be redrawn in a vector based format. Faxes, photocopies,
business cards & letterheads are NOT considered acceptable artwork.
Examples:
This illustration shows "Campfire" type that is converted to
outline. The second image shows how Vector art can be modified as it is
created in the proper program.
Here's another example: The first is a perfectly created Vector line
art drawing. The second shows how we are able to use part of it for a
smaller imprint, for example on a lanyard.
Not sure if your file will work?
If you cannot take a part of it and move it, then it is not Vector line art. If you take a jpg, tiff, giff or other format did you convert images and text to outline? If this command is not in your program, then it is not going to work as is.
Please do NOT send raster images that are embedded within another file,
such as within a Microsoft Word file. Meaning, opening a Word document, inserting a jpg with some type will not work unfortunately. Opening any file and simply "save as EPS" does not correct the issue either.
Images that contain halftones, tints, grayscales or are intended for
process color separation should have a bitmap resolution
(Pixels-per-inch that is a multiple of no less than than 150 to 200
percent of the line screen frequency specified by the printing process.) The color space of images submitted for process color separation should
remain in the native RGB color space to permit suppliers to apply their
own separation setup preferences.
We do have capabilities for Macintosh. If artwork is created in
Macintosh save in a PC format and convert to outlines. If you cannot
edit and save out of the Macintosh format a $10 fee is incurred on all
orders under $500 as we will have to send to our graphic artist for
conversion.
What if I don't have Artwork in the correct format?
At Promoz we have a full service art and graphic design division. We will resize all CONVERTED
EPS or AI formats to the correct size of your imprint area for free on
all orders over $500 or multiple orders. For orders under $500 there is
a $10 fee to resize. We will proof you back via email or fax if you
prefer. Returning clients- no charge.
If you only have a jpg or other unacceptable file format, we will need
to have the artist quote. Most very simple redraws are $25-45. We will
have it quoted and advise you prior to starting the artwork. Once the
artwork is started, it does become payable. And the more we have to
work with the better! If you have a couple of formats- send them all!
If you have an EPS or AI converted file and want type added, please
send a Word Doc file in addition to the ESP or AI file. We will add
them together and proof you back. Typesetting is free, providing the
fonts are TrueType and Type 1 postscript fonts. Please send "font only"
orders in Word Document files - using the font you want to have. For
font only orders (no pictures) you can also send an email and if you
have a particular font desired, please indicate.
Our top graphic designer can recreate complex designs with high levels
of detail. Complex design fee for in-house orders range from

service. The average logo design ranges from $75.00-$350.00 depending

What if I need a PMS Match? PMS stands for Pantone Matching System ®.
Many of our imprint methods allow for the us to closely match the
imprint color to a specific requirement. If you need a specific color
matching please provide us with "PMS" color numbers where applicable.
Most suppliers charge $35.00 per color. Inks need to be carefully
blended to achieve a close match to your color. This charge is also
applicable on reorders as ink colors have to be blended for each order.
For embroidered items, threads are selected which most closely matches
your PMS color.

Please note that all monitors are different and the color you see on the screen will differ when viewed in person.
